22 other cities from Tunisia, to Kuala Lumpur, to Brazil hosted Portfolio Night on the same night. Said Peter Callaghan, Creative Director, BBH Asia Pacific ( one of the 7 sponsors) "This Portfolio Night is really special as it was in great danger of not happening - so when 7 Agencies rallied to come together , my faith in the industry was somewhat restored. It's fantastic to be in a space filled with so much enthusiasm and hope.....and of course young people who will probably take our jobs some day ..."
Said Rafik Belmesk of Portfolio Night: "Singapore is one of our most popular Portfolio Night cities so we explored every avenue to try and make this night happen. There's something magical about Portfolio Nights all around the world - great things happen here. CDs were knackered near the end and still plowing through books. Students were literally lining up to meet them in what turned out to be a very long overtime period. They would probably still be going at it right now if the venue didn't have to close! It was beautiful to see."
Tickets for the night were reduced this year to encourage more attendees and were sold out with at least 100 young creatives and 15 Agency heads meeting in the name of nurturing creativity. Stretched out along the Museums main hall, creatives and Agency Heads sat opposite each other ala "speed dating" style as students bore their chosen work to the eagle eyes of Singapore's coveted few.
