Written by Agency.Asia
The most rousing point of difference between this and other folio dumps is that we boast considerably more in-depth editorial coverage of you; the ‘creationists’. That being the publicity that money can’t buy variety of exposure. In tandem with Agency.Asia Magazine this folio resource will highlight creatives rather than simply featuring their hard work, as is often the case. We will expose the best artists - and the hugely promising - to the most influential audience across Asia-Pacific. And that’s not all! Collaborating with design identities from a multitude of genres and corporate partners, we will provide scholarships and placements for promising pre-stylists - the future grown-ups of cutting edge fashion, photography, design and interactive and all cool-centric movements across Asia.
Being from Asia, why will I love DesignWeek.Asia?
Here’s a professional and easy way to create your portfolio online. We’ve done all the work so you don’t have to wrestle with uploading and arranging your folio. We even help you promote it. It shouldn’t take you more than your lunch hour to register and uploaded your work - then you’re set to go. You can count on potential employers checking you out, meet other designers in your city or across the region. Whatever. The best part is that this is a resource for Asians [we include Aussies and New Zealanders, as we like hanging out with talented neighbors]. If you’re from America or Europe, you owe it to yourself to check out Behance. This site is exclusively for us living and working across Asia.
Why is DesignWeek.Asia presented only in English and Chinese?
Fair question. We feature talents from one of the most culturally diverse regions on Earth and one that boasts a dozen different languages - and hundreds of dialects. It is impossible to have thousands of people communicate in so many languages on the one website. Great design is the same in any language. We will, soon be translating the main elements of the site into Simplified Chinese, so as to make for a better experience for a good many peoples across Asia.
My folio needs to be approved before I am accepted?
First things first, upload your work and create your profile. Our editorial teams are top artists, designers and creative directors. If you have talent we’ll recognize it and you’re automatically accepted. It may be a free club, but we insist on a passable level of creativity - even if you’re a fresh graduate. If you don’t quite make the grade, you’re welcome to come back and try again in future.
What sort of ‘design’ can I put here?

What’s the category “Alumni” all about?
Coming Soon! This is for design faculties that wish to showcase the design work their students are doing. It also allows lecturers to coordinate collaborative projects. Our talent scouts are lurking and looking to feature groups or individuals who are hot and ready to set the design world alight.
Do I have to rate my skill level in order to become a member?
No. However if an employer is looking for a junior graphic designer, rating yourself realistically will put you directly under his or her nose. If you’re not senior and you rate yourself as such, you might find yourself out of your depth. The same applies to all the tags and filtering on DesignWeek.Asia - it’s all there to help people find you effortlessly. You can always change your tag later.
What are my chances of being featured in Agency.Asia Magazine?
Unlike Westerners, Asian people are generally not born self-promoters - so we’re here to help. If you’re good, the chances are good you’ll get featured. Unlike most folio dumps in the world, we appreciate a need to get visual artists in front of the best creative people - especially in Asia - the people who read Agency.Asia over their morning latte & croissant. That’s why we launched Design Week Asia and Agency.Asia together. The former lets you exhibit your genius - so you can be discovered - and the latter is the highly respected magazine where we introduce you to a wider industry audience. We’re here to please!
Do you have internships so I can work on Agency.Asia & DesignWeek.Asia?
How much does it cost to be featured on DesignWeek.Asia?
It’s FREE! It doesn’t cost you anything to feature a portfolio. We do this because we like lively design and also because this as a great service to the readers of Agency.Asia. Inviting your friends and linking to us is all the love we need.
How much does it cost to be featured on Agency.Asia?
No amount of money can get you featured on Agency.Asia. It is a righteous magazine - and we don’t do ‘cash for comment’ ever. That said, it is always free for a membership on DesignWeek.Asia and our clandestine talent scouts spend hours silently pouring over the galleries for hot stuff. If you’re hot property, you’re in. As other members rate your work, the best creativity organically rises to the top too. There will be lots of people checking out your work here, trust us.
Is my folio and bio going to be seen by Google?
DesignWeek.Asia has woven facility for tags and other ingenious means to make sure that your name is going to get out there onto the Web. When you fill out your profile, please do it honestly and accurately. The use of any non-organic means that may usually be seen as contrary to the general terms of the major search engines will be frowned upon. Our mission is that you get noticed.
What are the advantages of upgrading to a Pro-Portfolio?
If you don’t need to showcase a huge folio, then enjoy the free ride and exposure that a DesignWeek.Asia Portfolio gives you! A well-written bio and twenty pieces of work will let us - and the creative world - know you’re pure genius.
What is the cost of a Pro-Portfolio?
We think that $US8 a month or $US80 per year [which gives you two months for free] is a reasonable price to exhibit 100 pieces of print (feel free to post an unlimited number of videos in the video gallery). For creatives with lots of work to show, the extra space can make a lot of difference, and is well worth the price.
Can I upload and store my work on DesignWeek.Asia?
That’s a bit like asking a stranger to mind your baby. You’re welcome to park you pictures with us as a Free Portfolio or Pro-Portfolio user, but under no circumstances should you consider DesignWeek.Asia as a backup repository. Always keep copies of all your work, whether you are part of our artistic community or not.

Can I promote my own website on DesignWeek.Asia?
Of course, this is a community of like-minded individuals. The whole point of the site is to be seen by your piers, mentors and a raft of potential employers both here and on Agency.Asia who enjoy creativity. We have a zero tolerance policy to spam, however, and if we catch a whiff of it your membership will be terminated. Selling yourself is fine, but any blanket bombing promotion is outlawed.
